How are spent, remaining, and over budget calculated?

By Dan Taylor

Spent is the total of recorded expenses; remaining is target budget minus spent.

Spent is the sum of every expense recorded for the project.

Remaining is the target budget minus the amount spent.

A project is over budget when spending is greater than the target budget. Quotes do not count as money spent; add an expense when money is actually paid or committed according to your own tracking method.
